How to reach Rameswaram by train, air and road
Rameswaram has its own railway station. The nearest airport is Madurai (≈175 km by road). The road crosses Pamban onto the island.
By train
Direct trains run from Chennai, Madurai and other cities to Rameswaram station, about 2–4 km from most hotels.
By air
Fly into Madurai (IXM). The drive to Rameswaram takes about 3.5 hours via Ramanathapuram.
By road
NH87 runs from Madurai to the island over the Pamban road bridge.
